Tiana Rogachevsky (She/Her), LMFT

DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician

Founder/Clinical Director

I value building a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship and working collaboratively to build a life that is worth living. In our sessions I focus on finding a balance of communicating acceptance, so your struggles can be heard, while looking at ways to improve your life for the future. I help you connect to your values and define behaviors that will get you on a path that increases your sense of self-worth. I am highly committed to the evidence-based practice of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), practicing clinically for 12 years and applying it in my own life concurrently.

Tiana provides individual, couples, family and parent therapy; She also co-leads DBT skills training groups and provides DBT coaching for adults, adolescents, and families. Tiana has provided therapeutic services to diverse populations, ranging from children on the autism spectrum to severely and chronically mentally-ill adults, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders. Prior to founding DBT Center of Long Beach she provided individual therapy at the largest social services agency on the Westside of Los Angeles, Ocean Park Community Center, with a focus on harm-reduction. Tiana then worked as a DBT therapist at both the Clearview Women’s Center for Borderline Personality and Emotional Disorders and Clearview Center for Addictions and Mental Health Disorders residential programs. Most recently, Tiana spent three years at DBT Center of the South Bay, continuously working on her skill. After having her first child, Tiana took a year to see clients at her private practice, Sage Mind Therapy. While Tiana enjoyed meeting with clients individually, the universe pulled her back to the outpatient Standard DBT program where she decided to organize and direct DBT Center of Long Beach.

She has completed various trainings including:

  • Four-day intensive DBT-PE Protocol for PTSD training presented by Melanie Harned, PhD, ABPP and Annie McCall, LMHC

Therapist

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I deeply value cultivating a non-judgmental and compassion-focused space for clients to feel genuinely heard, seen and understood.  I value a collaborative therapeutic process as we work towards creating a life that truly feels worth-living.

I have worked in a variety of treatment settings including Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs.  My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders/disordered eating behaviors, body image issues, trauma, and borderline personality disorder.

Along with specialized training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), I also am trained in Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) for disorders of overcontrol and have assisted in developing our RO DBT program at the DBT Center of Long Beach.  It is a true privilege to provide skills coaching tailored to each client’s unique experiences.

Vulnerability can be scary and immensely courageous.  No matter where you are in life, there is hope for healing, growth and self-discovery, and you do not have to go through your journey alone.  It is my hope to empower clients and help them find strength within themselves on their journey of discovery, freedom, and fulfillment.

Shayla has completed various trainings including:

  • Radically Open DBT Level 1 and Level 2 Training, Presented by Thomas R. Lynch, Ph.D

  • Advanced Training in RO DBT, Presented by Kristen Fritsinger, MSW, LICSW

  • Introduction to Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Presented by Julianna Gorder, PsyD

  • Exposure Therapy in ED Treatment, Presented by UCSD Eating Disorder Center

  • Optimizing Eating Disorder Treatments with DBT, Presented by Amy Kalasunas, LPCC-S, NCC and Portland DBT Institute

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Foundations Training, Presented by Shari Manning, Ph.D

  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy- Level 1 Certified, by "The Gottman Institute"

I am an LMFT with experience supporting individuals struggling with behavioral/impulsivity issues, anger issues, mood disorders, substance abuse disorders and personality disorders. As a therapist, I hope to support you in your exploration in defining a life worth living.

Curiosity, remaining present, being non-judgmental and compassionate are a few values I hold that assist in creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment. I see each client as the expert on their own life and it is an honor to get to know you and your story.

Along with these values I approach therapy with a person-centered approach while incorporating other evidence based practices such as: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing (MI).

Throughout the years I have gained experience working with children, couples, families and groups. I have experience facilitating parenting groups, perpetrators of domestic violence groups, and grief support groups. I currently facilitate groups assisting individual adults in substance abuse recovery programs and lead DBT skills groups for families and individual adults.

Nicole Elizabeth (She/Her), AMFT

Associate Therapist

As a clinician, I work to support my clients as we work to identify the patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that keep you stuck in maladaptive cycles, working with a goal of transmuting that energy into building a value-based life where you feel connected, fulfilled and engaged.

Traditional talk therapy left me frustrated as I found that it was helpful for identifying where pain comes from and how it feeds maladaptive behaviors- yet it provides little structure for cultivating the tools and skills necessary for implementing and sustaining the change and growth that clients come to therapy looking for.

I've found that DBT provides a straightforward structure and a multitude of clear and effective tools for reducing problematic habits, managing emotions, and improving relationships. I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space where we can work together to imagine the life you want, look at the life you have, and plan together to manage the obstacles to bring the two closer together.

Jessica Pishney (She/Her), PsyD, LP

Adult Skills Group Leader

I believe that creativity, spontaneity, and playfulness are paramount in work and life. As such, I view them as a vehicle for finding the life-work balance many of us seek, thus allowing us to experience the best version of ourselves. I utilize a non-judgemental, compassionate and integrative approach with my clients including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Humanistic/Rogerian and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have experience working with children and adults who have depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, and life transitions.

I completed a 3-Day: Dialectical Behavior Therapy Certification Training with Katelyn Baxter-Musser, LCSW, C-DBT, through PESI. I am a Trained EMDR therapist and working towards certification. Additionally, I have trained in improvisational theater at Improv Boston, Huge Theater, and Brave New Workshop. My doctoral dissertation was Development of an Improvisational Theatre Skills Training Video to Be Used in the Clinical Training of Psychotherapists. I am thrilled to be a part of the DBT Center co-leading Adult DBT groups!

Emma Finney (She/Her)

Client Care and Intake Coordinator

After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English at the University of Portland, I was accepted into the Graduate program for Marriage and Family Therapy at Azusa Pacific University. I entered the psychology field to explore my passion of helping others and to better myself. My goal is to finish graduate school then continue to qualify for the licensure exam to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

To me, being a therapist means you have a love for helping others, being non-judgmental, believing in everyone and being easy to talk to. I hope to be as great a therapist as the ones I'm working with here at DBT Center of Long Beach.

Unfortunately, I’m not currently taking on new clients as my dog-modeling career keeps me pretty busy. However, I will be more than happy to sit in on initial-consultation appointments with the rest of our wonderful team as needed and am a great woof-of-mouth referral source.

If you’re ready to take action and change your life, please call or email to connect with a therapist and see if DBT Center of Long Beach is right for you.
